MIRRORS (Augusto Peixoto) Part-1.

Jorge Luis Borges
MIRRORS
I escaped from all mirrors of Birth:
And clear amalgam, followed by -
Beginning and end of the space,
Inhabited by only a reflection;
And the ghost of water, so similar
From the deep blue of the sky,
That bird to fly cross,
That dazzled by the sudden shiver;

And lacquer, whose lifeless surface
Toumani is marble, the rose,
That wears out a dream,
By silent surface of sailing -
For so many years, words and deeds
Many wearied sublunary world,
Ready to ask what the game of fortune
Inspire me with dread of mirrors?

Metal whether fugitive glow zmeitsya
Or caoba scarlet at dusk
Tucked erases fog
Guise of dreams and the dreamer -
They are everywhere, which became the fate
Cannons ancient curse -
Fetal likeness, as if the act of conception,
Always on guard and always with you.

Multiplying the world and extending,
Beckon puzzling cobwebs;
Sometimes, in the evening of their depth
Toumani sigh shadow still alive.
They - everywhere. Their pupil permanent
And sneaks into the bedroom, making it difficult
To be alone. Here is someone - a stranger
Shadow with his smoldering scene.

Accommodates all mirror world deep,
But do not remember the depth
Where we read - strange rabbis! -
Conversely written line.
King of the evening, hypocritical Claudius,
I did not think himself a dream,
Until he saw himself on the stage,
Where mime without words told him the truth.

Mirrors and dreams at our disposal
Do not count, and every day in their banal
Carries a canvas and unreal
World that weave our reflections.
God with the secret intention (I figured it out)
Its elusive Structures
Raised up for us out of darkness and dreams,
Unattainable glass and light.

God created the dream giver in the dark
Night and mirrors silent reflection,
Letting us know that we - just shadows.
Only dust and ashes. Hence - our fears.

"What does not kill you makes me stronger" Artist Natalia Smirnova (Natalia Smirnova)

Artist Natalia Smirnova works as if from another era, her art brings us back to the mysterious and legendary tales of medieval manuscripts. Natalia currently lives in St. Petersburg, works primarily in watercolor, tempera on cardboard. Her palette - sepia or black and white work. From under the hand of the artist with exquisite tenderness appear protruding from the darkest shadows magical forest full of charming - fabulous phantoms of her imagination materialize winged angels, ghosts, flying ships, demons and fairies.

"I have three very different childhood memories about the art ... It's a terrible picture of Goya's" Saturn Devouring His Children ", full of admiration for the Dutch still lifes of the 17th century and mysterious icons. My interest in art became serious when I wrote my first copy of the Dutch still life with fruit and flowers, in 13 years. I painted it very carefully, within two months from the first oil paints. The inspiration for me are often just a phrase from Tolkien's books, the Bible and Jewish tradition. I often see "picture" during reading, the main thing that had the desire to portray this image. The reason for my inspiration can be anything. Sometimes I myself invent fantasy worlds.

Letnee glow. Tempera on cardboard

If I had to spend a day with the artist, it would be a journey through the Alps to Italy with the young Albrecht Dürer or would gladly visited Jan van Eyck, to see how he was a man. But if I had to choose what kind of pictures I would like to have, I would have chosen the "Tower of Babel" by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.

Mandragorum

If I were asked to name the hero or heroine of the iconic famous people ..... I'll call of Abraham - he decided to do something really new, and it changed the world. Reading about it made a strong impression. However, I'm not particularly religious person.

Solomon

My work - part of my own art ... but my main profession - restorer. I work in the restoration of Russian icons for more than 20 years, and I love his main work - restoration.
"What does not kill you makes me stronger."
